28th August 2009 LADIES END SEASON UNBEATEN IN LEAGUE
News
A VERY MEMORABLE SEASON FOR THE LADIES
League Champions Bangor Ladies, the ladies section of Bangor Football Club's completed their final league fixture tonight (26th) of their truly memorable, record breaking 2009 season at Brookvale Park ground in Larne.

The Seasiders finishing with a 3-0 victory, to maintain their unbeaten status in the NIWFA this season.

Three goals from their top class forward Natasha Lee saw the club defeat Wellington Recreational, in a very determined and hard working performance, as Bangor posted the most impressive record of statistics of any team in Northern Ireland.

This triumph ensured the Bangor club the highest points total of any club this season - finishing with 40 out of a possible 42, the most recorded over all seven divisions of the sport. The Sammy Mellon sponsored side only dropped two points while netting the most goals seen anywhere in the NIWFA.

Fittingly Coca Cola Division Three's top striker Natasha Lee scored all 3 on Wednesday (26th) night, her fifth hat-trick, as the teenager completed the club's remarkable year with a personal tally of 32 goals.

22nd August 2009 SEASIDERS SUNK IN KILLYLEAGH
News
  A MISERABLE AFTERNOON FOR BANGOR
FINAL SCORE FROM KILLYLEAGH:
KILLYLEAGH YC 4 -1 BANGOR

Bangor crashed out of the Steel & Sons Cup this afternoon with a below par performance in Killyleagh. Bangor never really got going against a Killyleagh side who capitalised on extremely slack defending to cruise into a 4-0 half-time lead.

A second half comeback was never really on the cards even though Jim McMenamin and Glen Upton both rattled the Killyleagh crossbar. It was Glen Upton who nodded in a late consolation goal for Bangor on a thoroughly miserable afternoon for the Seasiders.

 BANGOR LADIES
- MATCH POSTPONED
League Champions Bangor Ladies, the ladies section of Bangor Football Club's final league game of their memorable, record breaking 2009 season in the Coca Cola divisional championship, was postponed last night, as torrential rain flooded the Brookvale Park ground in Larne.

Despite the fixture being given the go ahead, as late as 6.50 p.m., the conditions deteriorated rapidly, with the persistent heavy rain, and the referee postponed the game at around 7.20 p.m., in consideration for the safety of the players. The game will be re-arranged and hopefully be played within the next two weeks.

With all other fixtures in the Division 3 going ahead, the Seasiders are delighted to announce their top striker Natasha Lee  has also been confirmed as the divisions top goalscorer in 2009 - a fantastic achievement by the 18 year old Bangor Academy student in her first season with the Clandeboye Road club.

Natasha's league total of 24 goals in 13 matches, is the best strike rate in any of the five NIWFA divisions - and along with fellow forward Dee Savage third, and midfielder Carolyn Scott ninth, the club with still one game to play, celebrate having three players in the divisions top ten goalscoring charts.

The visiting team were reduced to ten men in the second half when Paul Donegan was dismissed for a nasty head butt on Glen Upton.
