There was some good news on the injury front today when defender Craig Gilmore's cheek bone injury was diagnosed as a compound fracture. The recovery period for this type of injury is much faster than normal fracture injuries and Craig should be back playing within a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, Mark Magennis will be in plaster for the next 6 to 8 weeks after breaking a leg in Saturday's match at Mourneview Park. Mark is remaining positive about the injury and hopes to be back playing before the end of the season.

We wish both players a very speedy recovery.

New signing Mark Magennis, who hobbled off after just 15 minutes has sustained a broken leg and is currently in a full leg plaster cast. Our other new signing, Craig Gilmore, who had a fantastic debut at the heart of the Bangor defence sustained a fractured cheek bone late in the game. Midfielder David Irvine, who lasted just 10 minutes at Mourneview Park was another casualty with a back injury.

Meanwhile defender Paul Harbinson has been told to rest indefinitely as he recovers from a disc injury at the top of his back which was sustained in December's Carnegie League Cup Final.

On the plus side, striker Paul McDowell has successfully come through his cruciate ligament operation and is now on the road to recovery.
