2007-2008 SEASON SUMMARY

Paul Millar took over as the new Bangor manager in the summer of 2007. The season started with an incredible run of ten wins and three draws.

Bangor's first defeat came in Novemebr in the Steel & Sons Cup Semi-Final where they went down 2-1 to Ballyclare Comrades at Seaview.

Bangor reached the Final of the Carnegie League Cup. They played Loughgall at Mourneview Park, and despite playing the better football and squandering a glut of chances, they somehow managed to lose the match 1-0.

The Cup defeats combined with a serious injury to striker Paul McDowell seemed to upset the rhythm of the squad as they entered the new year. Results in February and March were far from impressive as Loughgall cruised their way to the League title.

Paul Millar left the club the day after a turbulent 2-1 home defeat to Carrick Rangers in April.

John Bailie stepped in as caretaker Manager for the final League game of the season, a 1-1 draw with Dundela at Wilgar Park.

The season however did not finish there. Bangor had successfully applied for a domestic license and were eligible for the new 12 team Premiership. Bangor were ranked 11th in a criteria based point scoring system.

Bangor started their preparations for life in the 2008/09 Premiership.....
